One of the world’s most famous multinational FMCG organizations was seeking a Strategic Modern Trade Transformation Director to focus on their entire modern trade sales operation in Saudi Arabia.
The company is the market leader in Saudi Arabia, with over 60% market share, and Saudi Arabia was identified as the no 1 corporate strategic growth market worldwide for the firm. The role would transform all aspects of the current sales operation, implementing best practice procedures from developed markets in preparation for the growth and change predicted to develop in the medium term. The position was highly visible at a global level and offered the opportunity to revolutionize the way that business is done in the modern trade channel in Saudi Arabia. If successful, the model was going to be used as a standard across all emerging markets worldwide.
The role required someone entrepreneurial, highly motivated, dynamic, results driven and with a strong ability to lead and influence. They needed to have significant experience in regional key account management in the modern trade channel, preferably in both emerging and developed markets. They also needed excellent leadership capability, negotiation skills and a proven track record in increasing market share and sales volume.
